Honest feelings + rainy day

I slept like a ROCK last night. This week is my deload week so I’m only running 50% volume, and I was able to come home after work yesterday and CHILL OUT. Being able to wind down at the end of the day helps me sleep so much better. I got up and still felt tired today. And honestly I’m still tired now. It’s rainy out, and whenever I do less volume my body seems to play “catch up” and actually feel things(if you’ve ever trained for a marathon/endurance event you KNOW this feeling, am I right?) I was still able to go out on a nice 6 mile run this morning which felt better as I went. I made a delicious bowl of oatmeal then had sourdough toast, peanut butter, banana, eggs, and a protein shake LOL. I also get more hungry on days off so I can just relax and eat which has taken me a LONGGGG time to allow myself to do! I leave tomorrow for a little weekend get away with my friend Anna, and I have the next two days off from running (I couldn’t tell you the last time I took two FULL days of without running, eeek!) I still have to pack, but just haven’t gotten to it yet. I am excited too because I heard back from the masters program I applied to and I have my interview next Monday! It’s only a zoom meeting but I’m super excited to get things moving and finalized with that! It’s also my aunts birthday today, she turns 60! She ran the Boston marathon this year and I only hope I can be running marathons like her as I get older!🩷 Have a happy Wednesday!
